INTERGENERATIONAL RECIPE

Take apples,

Crumble topping,

Lashings of autumn spice.

Bake until

Golden topped, then

Gold-topped again,

Pour on cream.

Taste summer meadows

And promised snow days.

A balanced meal,

Suspended between seasons

And devoured with ready spoons.

Fran Moldashl (she/they) started writing when she was very little because it meant her parents would let her use the computer. Since then she has studied Danish, worked with puppies, and recently returned to university to study archaeology. In 2022, she won the Kelpies Prize for Writing. Fran currently lives in Aberdeenshire and is passionate about early years literature, history, linguistics, and custard, and spends way too much time playing in the mud.
